About Vicky Lau

Vicky Lau, a culinary entrepreneur and award-winning chef, founded and runs several F&B businesses in Hong Kong. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she draws inspiration from the city’s rich heritage of East-meets-West cuisine. Her upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation and understanding of ingredients, as well as a passion for blending traditional techniques with modern interpretations.

 

Beyond the kitchen, Vicky is dedicated to promoting social and environmental responsibility in the food industry, advocating for sustainable practices and supporting local communities.

Upon completing seven-years of academic studies in the United States,

graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree

Position as graphic designer at one the first communications agencies to focus on the areas of sustainability and social responsibility "Green Team"

Graduated with a "Grand Diplôme" from "Le Cordon Bleu" culinary school

Debut of the culinary journey in the kitchen of the one star-Michelin restaurant "Cépage", working under the guidance of Chef Sebastien Lepinoy

Opening of the first TATE Dining Room & Bar 1.0 on Elgin Street

Opening of Catering company "Butler" and Pastry Shop "Poem"
(Butler is not anymore under her management since 2020)

2013 awarded with first star-Michelin

2015 named Asia's Best Female Chef by The World's 50 Best

Over Covid-19, renewal of Poem Pastry Shop into Date by Tate, a life style & pastry shop providing luxury take out and delivery service. 

Opening of restaurant Mora, a new concept focusing on versatility of Soy. 
2022 awarded with a green star-Michelin in the Guide 2023

2024 awarded with  one star-Michelin in the Guide 2024

A soy-focused brand offering an array of items including pastries, noodles, and lifestyle items
